Bulgaria Destination Wedding Photography
The marriage of Claire & Yasen blended traditions in the rustic mountain village of Dalbok Dol, Bulgaria.
Simultaneously covering bridal and groom preparations, I spent the morning with Claire while my second photographer, Ben, photographed Yasen.
Contrary to an English wedding, Bulgarian grooms march through the village with their friends and family to find their bride! Once Yasen had found Claire, the first ceremony commenced. Beautiful mountains provided a backdrop, and parties from England and Bulgaria gathered to celebrate the legal signing and marriage.
Traditional dancing followed, with locals providing refreshments and performances. Choir singing echoed from the local village church, welcoming us to the second ceremony.
Confetti followed with a feast and more dancing! A famous Bulgarian gipsy band, Karandila, played music for everyone into the night with a jazz DJ and surprise fireworks finishing off a perfect day…
